Abstract

This report presents the development of an online reservation system aimed at strengthening the community tourism initiative Ecualdea de Shandia, located in Ecuador's Amazon region. Despite offering rich cultural and natural experiences, the community still relies on manual methods to manage its services, which limits its efficiency and visibility. To address this situation, a responsive web platform was proposed and developed to automate reservations in a secure and user-friendly way. The system was built using technologies such as PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, following the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture and the agile Scrum methodology. The project involved identifying community needs, defining system requirements, designing a robust database, and implementing key features such as user registration, reservation management, and an administrative panel. The results show that this tool significantly improves internal organization, tourist service management, and the digital presence of the initiative. The implementation of web technologies proves to be a valuable step toward enhancing tourism operations in rural communities and promoting sustainable local development.
